Clear, step-by-step instructions to sign in, secure your account, and recover access if something goes wrong. This guide uses Robinhood’s official flows (web & app).
Quick Start — Sign in (Web & Mobile)
Step-by-step
Open the Robinhood app or visit the official login page.
Enter your registered email and password, then tap Log In.
If prompted, complete the login verification (2FA / passkey / biometric) shown on-screen.
If you use a personal device, consider selecting “Keep me logged in” for convenience—but only on trusted devices.
Why these steps?
Robinhood supports both password + verification flows and modern passkeys/biometric sign-in for faster, more secure access.
Signing in from a new device
What to expect
When you sign in on a different phone or browser Robinhood may ask you to verify your identity with an extra step — email link, SMS code, authenticator code, or a support verification option.
Troubleshooting
If you don’t receive a code, check spam, confirm your phone number, and ensure your mobile carrier is delivering SMS.
Use the "Need help?" link on the verification screen to try a different verification method.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) & Passkeys
Enable 2FA
Open Account → Menu/Settings → Security and privacy.
Choose Two‑Factor Authentication and follow the prompts to set up SMS or an authenticator app.
Use Passkeys
Passkeys (device-based authentication using Face/Touch ID) are supported: create a passkey under Security for phishing-resistant login.
Locked out? Account recovery
Reset password
Use the official password reset flow (enter your account email to receive reset instructions).
If you’ve lost email access, try phone-based recovery if you previously added a phone number.
When all else fails, contact Robinhood Support through the app’s Help → Robinhood Support in Settings for identity verification help.
Important safety tip
Robinhood will never ask for your full password via email or social messages. Beware of phishing links and impersonators offering phone-based recovery — always use official support channels.
Best practices to keep your account secure
Use a strong, unique password and a reputable password manager.
Enable 2FA (authenticator app preferred over SMS where possible).
Enable passkeys or biometrics for quick, secure access on your trusted devices.
Regularly review login activity and freeze your account if you notice suspicious access.
